Acceptable Use and Content Policy
Effective date: November 3, 2026
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains what you can create, upload and publish with Phosphene, how our moderation works and what happens when content breaks the rules. It expands on section 6 of our Terms of Service; if the two ever differ, the Terms apply.
2. What Phosphene is for
Make images and videos from your ideas, your own photos and photos of people who agreed to take part. You keep ownership of your inputs and results, subject to the rights of others. You are responsible for what you create and for how you use it, including any commercial use your plan allows.
3. Content we decline
You agree not to create, upload, request, publish or share:
- Sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualises a person who appears to be under 18. Requests like this are blocked and recorded against the account.
- Adult, pornographic, sexually explicit or sexually suggestive imagery of anyone, including edits that undress or sexualise a real photo.
- Intimate or sexual imagery of a real person, or realistic depictions of a private person made without their consent.
- Impersonation and deceptive deepfakes: content meant to make people believe a real person said or did something they did not.
- Content that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights. See Copyright and DMCA.
- Content that promotes violence, terrorism, self-harm, hate or harassment of people or groups.
- Fraud, scams, spam, or illegal goods and services.
- Attempts to get around safety checks, rate limits, sign-in, payment controls or a model provider's own rules.
4. Photos of people
Use photos of yourself, or of people who agreed to their photo being used for the result you are making. Phosphene is for adults, and a request that would sexualise a child is blocked whatever photo it starts from.
5. How moderation works
- Every prompt is screened by an automated moderation service before it reaches an AI model.
- A second automated check reads each prompt for sexualised content involving a minor and blocks it.
- When a prompt is declined for another reason, we may suggest a rewritten prompt that you can review and use.
Automated checks make mistakes in both directions. If you think a decision was wrong, write to us and a person will review it.
6. Enforcement
Depending on how serious a violation is, we may remove content, take it out of the Community gallery, limit features or suspend the account. Requests that sexualise a minor are blocked, recorded against the account, and repeated attempts lead to automatic suspension.
7. Report content
In the Community gallery, open an image and choose Report this image. You can also email [email protected] with a link to the content and what is wrong with it. Copyright owners can follow the DMCA process.
