Accessibility

Our target

We want everyone to be able to make images and videos with Phosphene. We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on phosphene.cc and in the iOS app. Until an independent audit, we describe our status as partially conformant.

What we do

• We build controls with visible focus styles and keyboard support.
• Many animations slow down or stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
• Text and controls follow the type scale and touch-target sizes of our design system.
• Policy and help pages use plain HTML headings, lists and tables.

Known gaps

• Generated images and videos come from AI models and may lack a detailed text description.
• Some visual editing tools, such as drawing and region selection, depend on a pointer or touch.
